Matte Painting: Salt Lake Valley ca. 1890

A matte painting I did a while back for a short film, “Only a Stonecutter (2008)”. I learned a bunch on this, namely, that I worried waaay too much about details that never made it into the film (see the clip below). It would have helped to have run a test composite to see what exactly I was dealing with. In the end it worked ok, but it’s not something I can completely dance to: 86.
