Concept Painting

Had some time La-a-a-ate at night over the past week to actually crank out a concept painting. Funny how the thing morphs over time — I need to practice more often just following through on the original concept to see if I can in fact achieve it. Letting happy accidents drive the ship, although that is fun sometimes, is too much of a crutch. I have no idea why I chose this subject matter, but I was inspired by James Paick’s excellent painting tutorial and I thought I’d put what I learned to the test.
